Elizabeth Johnson (AJP)

Elizabeth is an Outstanding Green Light Candidate
Elizabeth (Liz) Johnston has lived in the South East area of Melbourne her entire and is committed to preserving our south-eastern wetlands and the local areas of bush and native habitat that are constantly threatened by development. These areas are important to the native animals that live there and she is committed to the Animal Justice Party’s belief that we simply cannot afford any more biodiversity loss. With the climate crisis now more evident than ever, Elizabeth calls on Government to listen to, and act on the advice of, our scientists.
Elizabeth is an active and passionate opponent of live animal export. She believes the truth about this immoral industry has been well documented – it is high risk with decades of repeated evidence of gross cruelty and suffering. She also supports a ban on the indiscriminate use of poisons such as 1080, and to replace ineffective, barbaric animal testing with effective research methods that don’t involve cruel experiments on animals.
Elizabeth embraces the Animal Justice Party political philosophy and believes that the party’s four core values of kindness, non-violence, equality and rationality should underpin all political decision-making and policy. In a volatile world that is becoming increasingly harmful to animals and unfair and unequal for humans these values are more important than ever, she is proud to be standing as an Animal Justice Party Candidate in Dunkley this Federal Election.

Matt Maber (Greens)

I’m running because I care about Dunkley and the people here. Growing up, I saw working-class families and renters like myself pushed out as costs soared. Many of my friends can no longer afford to live in the place they grew up. The system is failing us, and I’m stepping up to change it. I’m not a career politician—I’m one of you, committed to building a fairer society where Dunkley gets the attention it deserves.
Dunkley is home to hard-working people—renters, small business owners, and families. We share a common struggle: rising costs and a housing crisis. Many of us are working longer hours, yet we can’t keep up. If you’re worried about the cost of living, housing or climate, you’re not alone. In a wealthy country like ours, everyone should be able to afford the basics: a home, food and world class health and education. And we should be taking strong action on the climate and environment crisis, not backing more coal and gas. While you pay more, one in three big corporations pay zero tax.
More Greens will keep Dutton out and get Labor to act. If you want change, the first step is to vote for it. This time, vote 1 Greens.
