Margee qualifies as an Outstanding Green Light Candidate
Margee Glover is proud to stand as the Legalise Cannabis Australia candidate for Wills in the upcoming Federal Election.
A long-time Coburg resident, Margee has lived in the electorate with her family for over 25 years. She has been actively involved in school and community groups, building strong local connections and a deep understanding of the issues that matter to residents.
Recently retired after a 40-year career spanning publishing, arts and education, Margee has worked with numerous cultural and community organisations. Her experience has given her firsthand insight into policy and the challenges faced by local communities.

Margee believes that outdated laws and political privilege have led to ineffective approaches to key social issues. Like many in the community, she knows the war on cannabis has failed and is committed to fighting for sensible, compassionate reform.
As a candidate, Margee is dedicated to evidence-based, community-driven policies that deliver real solutions. She will be an approachable and transparent representative, committed to fairness and meaningful change. With Margee in Parliament, Wills will have a strong advocate for health, personal freedoms, and a more just future.

Owen Miller (Fusion)

Owen qualifies as an Outstanding Green Light Candidate
G’day, I’m Owen Miller, your Fusion candidate for Wills. As a software engineer and Brunswick local, I’m throwing my hat in the ring because I believe we can build a more empathetic, sustainable and innovative society − but only if we embrace bold ideas and tackle problems at their root cause.
We’ve seen problems grow and grow as voters keep electing the same two parties who kick big problems down the road: climate, housing, mental health, innovation.
Much of our life is now at the whims of foreign tech giants. Our economy has lost its innovative spirit, and our income is dependent on digging things out of the ground, or betting on real estate.
Our governments continue to pursue GDP maximisation at the expense of our environment and our mental wellbeing.
It doesn’t have to be like this; and here are my priorities for turning it around:
Emergency Climate Action
Let’s build more pumped hydro and explore all options, even geoengineering.
Universal Basic Income
Solve the cost-of-living crisis at the root level by giving everyone enough money to live a basic life. Give people a safety net as they retrain in new industries or start their own ventures that bring fulfillment and economic empowerment. It’s not as crazy as you might think.
Affordable housing
Decouple housing from investing. Redirect investments to city-building and high-speed rail instead. Reduce immigration to levels we can actually handle.
Open-source Cybernetics
Let’s bring transparency and collaboration to government by embracing the best practices of the software industry. By making government systems open-source and digital-first, we’ll allow residents to see how decisions are made and even improve these processes themselves. Together, we’ll build a foundation for incredible innovation and a truly connected community.

Sue Bolton (Socialist Alliance)

Sue Bolton is the Socialist Alliance candidate for the Seat of Wills in Melbourne.
Sue Bolton is a veteran socialist activist and currently serving her fourth term on the Merri-bek City Council.
Bolton has a stand-out record of working with residents and communities to empower them to stand up for their rights. She has won victories that include saving the outdoor pool in Fawkner and won council support to end contracts with companies supporting the Israeli military.
Sue believes that “The Albanese Labor government has failed to address the interests of working people” and that we need a radical left-wing alternative to the major parties that stands for working people and their rights.
Samantha Ratnam (Greens)

I’ve dedicated my life to fighting for our community – for a future where no one is left behind and we all have a quality, affordable home, world class services and a safe climate.
My family arrived in Melbourne after the civil war broke out in Sri Lanka with nothing but the suitcases we carried between us. We thrived because we had access to good quality public education and healthcare. I know first hand how strong and supportive communities can change our lives.
Our community can lead the rest of the country. But right now, our Labor representative doesn’t vote in line with our values in the Federal Parliament.
As someone who cares deeply about our community, it is devastating that so many of us are struggling to make ends meet. Labor is backing their corporate donors making billions in profit, and failing to tackle the scale of the cost of living, housing or climate crises we are experiencing. We know Dutton would be worse.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
I believe that politics is about choices. We can choose to reform the housing market, make big corporations pay their fair share of tax and use it to fund world class health, education and public services. We can choose to take on the supermarkets and end their price gouging. We can do so much more to end the invasion and occupation of Gaza and end military exports to Israel. We can stop more coal and gas and tackle the climate crisis.
All of this is possible, Labor is just choosing not to.
We have plans to build the biggest people-powered campaign in the country. Labor and the Liberals are funded by big corporations including coal and gas companies and property developers. We have something more powerful: people like you.
So, this is it! If you want to see change, the first step is voting for someone who will fight for you and the things you believe in.
I’d love to have you join me. I hope I can count on your vote.
