Kristyn is an excellent Green Light candidate and deserves your support in Wahroonga. Full marks Kristyn for your answers to our questions.

  • Do you endorse NSW declaring an ecological and climate emergency? YES I DO because it is the truth. We are in an ecological and climate emergency and I’m heartbroken.
    • Do you support the principle of aiming for zero emissions by 2030 ? I have stated net zero by 2040, however of course I support an earlier target. We are running against time.
    • Do you oppose exploring for or commissioning new gas or coal mining projects? Yes I oppose this. It’s disgraceful how many new gas or coal mining projects are going ahead.
    • Do you oppose the logging and wood chipping of NSW native State forests?  Protecting forests is central to action on climate change.  We must protect our forests! No more logging and wood chipping in NSW native State Forests. It’s not just central action on climate it is saving us from ourselves. We need wildlife!
    • Climate change and solutions to the crisis are impacting some sections of society more than others. Do you support rapid transition action that prioritises social justice within the most cost effective framework our society can muster? Undeniably, our urgent task is to reduce the drivers and impacts of the emergency.  Recently I listened to a podcast where Jane Goodall was the guest sepaker. She made it very clear that we must have a socially just society to protect the climate. Otherwise acting on climate is a luxury for those who can afford it.
    • Peaceful protest has always been enshrined in our democratic culture. Would you support the rescinding of recent NSW legislation which undermines that right? Violet Coco was sentenced to 8 months (minimum) jail time for blocking a one-lane on-ramp to the harbor bridge for 28 minutes to bring attention to the climate emergency. The production team of the Fall Guy film was given $30 million from the Federal Government, topped up by $14.5 million from the State Government to block ALL traffic (except trains) crossing the Bridge, and the Cahill expressway for 7 hours. This was instituted by the Liberal Government, Labor’s Chris Minns has also supported the prosecution. Yes I do support the rescinding of recent NSW Legislation which takes the rights away from people like myself who use peaceful protests to get attention.
