Michelle Milthorpe (Independent)

Michelle is a Community Independent candidate

Born and raised in Cootamundra, I now reside with my family in Jindera.

My parents, grandparents and extended family embody the values of hard work, service to others, and loyalty. It is through them that my fierce desire for social justice and equity originates.

Throughout my life I have worked as a teacher, but have also played the role of coach, small business owner and advocate, all of which have required determination and persistence, and have taught me to be solutions-focused.

A quick google search of me will reveal that the last few years have not been easy for our family. After experiencing the horrors of an antiquated legal system I was not happy to sit back and let other children and families experience the same injustice that we did.

My response to that experience encompasses the person I am, and the values I represent:

If you see something that needs fixing, and you have the capacity to make positive change, you should.

So now I put myself forward as the community-backed independent candidate for Farrer, with the intent of bringing genuine representation back to this electorate

I am a relatable and reliable representative of Farrer, passionate about equity for regional Australians.

Richard Hendrie (Greens)

Richard is an award-winning mental health and disability advocate and current Albury Citizen of the Year. He holds senior roles in representing lived experience perspectives to state government and national boards, and has qualifications in social work, arts, and psychology. A resident of Lavington, Richard is always accompanied by his loyal assistance dog Havic!

Gary Pappin (Independent)

I absolutely support Net Zero and the reduction of pollution from our earth.
I strongly advocate for an increase in research and development in best practice agriculture and renewable technology implementation.

Kind Regards,

-Gary Pappin
Independent for Farrer

I am a retired farmer living in the heartland of Farrer. I was born in Balranald and raised on a sheep station at the beginning of ‘the outback’. I spent my youth in the shearing sheds and fruit-picking around the Riverina. In my 20s I was employed for the public service in rangelands management and later National Parks and heritage conservation. After I married I took a career break to work as a truck driver and in the mining industry. I returned to the public service in my late 40s working in water infrastructure. I recently retired to an irrigation property in Mellool. In 2024 I was elected Councillor for the Greater Wakool ward of the Murray River Council.
