Brent McDowall (Greens)

I’m a software engineer and a keen badminton player. It has been my great pleasure to be a resident of Everton Hills for more than 20 years, and to raise my family here. As a proud volunteer at the Hills District Police-Citizens Youth Club, I’ve seen how we can all flourish when we work together as part of an engaged and inclusive community

I’m running to be your state representative because successive Labor and LNP governments have shown they can’t face up to the urgent challenges we face. They are letting big corporations rip us off, keeping their rich donors happy while everyday Queenslanders struggle with the housing crisis and high cost of living.

The Greens are different; We don’t take donations from big corporations. As your MP, I will represent you, not vested interests.

The Greens will take on the big corporations that are ripping off Queenslanders. We’ll cap rents and tax big corporations fairly to build 100,000 public homes. We’ll also use that money to fully fund schools, free childcare, hospitals and essential services

We’ll make groceries cheaper by breaking up the duopoly power of Coles and Woolies and stopping corporate price gouging for essentials.

The Greens will stop new coal and gas mines and move away from fossil fuels with a fair transition for workers in these industries. We’ll cut power bills with 100% publicly owned renewable energy, and take back control of our economy by bringing key infrastructure and services into public ownership.

We’ll create free and frequent public transport, with more reliable train and bus services to give you the freedom to leave your car at home.

Our community deserves representation in Parliament that fights for us and our needs. Together, we can make it happen. Will you join me?
