Vania’s Climate Action Policy

To take decisive action to reduce emissions without wrecking the economy

To prepare the community and protect the environment in the coast, rivers and bush areas to adapt to the climate changes.

• Stop subsidies to fossil fuel companies and invest in action to cut emissions.
• Make government accountable to transition the economy and support communities, like Robertson, to decarbonize through electric vehicle charging infrastructure, renewable energy and community battery infrastructure.
• Invest in local mitigation of climate impacts and disaster management across the coast, river & the bush.
• Funding of major infrastructure to avoid major roads becoming rivers, protection against flood inundation in low lying areas and protection against coastal erosion.
• Ending the gas powered economy including PEP-11. Support Zali Steggall’s motion that would have paved the way for a Private Members’ Bill to permanently kill off the PEP11 offshore drilling permit
