Climate
Our environment sustains our region. It serves our tourism industry as well as our well-being, spreading from the forest to the coast. The Manning River literally gives life to our community and supports primary production as well as recreation. But despite this importance, we currently have no leadership protecting it. Our current representation did not even attend a debate on the opening of the Manning River, with even the opposition pleading for the Nationals to seek existing government funding to support it.
Floods and fires are putting our community at risk. Our environment is in critical danger and needs immediate action!
As our representative in the NSW Parliament I will advocate for:
– Saving Bulga Forest and a moratorium on native forest logging
– Permanent entrance for the Manning River
– Community Virtual Power Plants to guarantee electricity supply, lower costs and increase community resilience
– Expand the Electric Vehicle Charging Network to ensure our region is a tourism destination for EV drivers
