You can learn about how to effectively use Traffic Light Voting Guides for the upcoming Federal election by following this link to our video and familiarising yourself with its instructions:

Here’s how you can make climate a compelling issue locally.

Hand out Traffic Light A5 How to Vote cards at polling booths. Phone or text 0427 580 803 to arrange for print ready artwork tailored for your electorate. You can then print the How to Vote card using your home printer or for larger numbers use the services of a commercial printer.

This is particularly effective to help add extra reach to Green Light independent campaigns and draw in swinging voters. Vote Climate One’s assessment of candidates has the elevated status of being fiercely independent.

Tim Claydon (LCP)

Tim qualifies as an Outstanding Green Light Candidate

Tim Claydon is a hospitality professional, having managed and owned some of Sydney and the Central Coasts most iconic restaurants and venues over his nearly 25-year career.

After being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, he was advised to start biologics and was prescribed strong pharmaceutical medication for inflammation and chronic pain. Seeking alternative solutions, he turned to medical cannabis, which significantly improved his quality of life. This experience ignited his passion for advocacy in the field of medical cannabis, leading him to serve as a consultant for pain management.

His commitment to improving patient care led him to collaborate with CSIRO on a Cannabis palliative care project. Additionally, he co-founded the NSW Legalise Cannabis Party, further solidifying his dedication to advancing cannabis legislation in Australia.

His journey from entrepreneur to consultant, researcher, and political activist showcases his unwavering dedication to improving patient care through innovative solutions. With each step he took, Tim not only transformed his own life but also made significant strides toward changing perceptions around cannabis.

Patrick Murphy (AJP)

Patrick qualifies as an Outstanding Green Light Candidate

Introducing Patrick Murphy, Animal Justice Party Federal candidate for Dobell, on the Central Coast.

Patrick is a passionate advocate for animals, people and the environment we all share, and believes the best way to make positive change is through political representation.

‘For too long animals and the environment have been neglected and ignored by those in power  – I am standing for the seat of Dobell to change that. I will fight to end the barbaric live export trade, ensure our kangaroos, koalas and all our unique wildlife are protected, end the destruction wreaked on the land by coal seam gas and I will not stop until we get real action to address the climate emergency.’

If elected Patrick will work to bring truth to politics and make the politicians represent the people, not fossil fuel companies, and other corporations who don’t pay their fair share of tax and don’t have Australia’s best interest at heart. We have to stop rich lobbyists paying politicians to destroy our national interests, bring back democracy and have effective whistle-blower laws.

Patrick has campaigned alongside fellow members for multiple issues, not just animal related ones.

Patrick lives in the Woy Woy region, and happily shares his backyard with beautiful local wallabies and enjoys nature as well as the occasional game of chess.

Simon Cooper (Greens)

I am proud to be standing for the Greens. We have an optimistic vision for positive change. It is based on our commitment to putting people and the planet before profit and self-interest. And we have solutions to the problems of systemic inequality.

While I am currently fortunate to own my home in Dobell, I have faced the harsh realities of the rental market, including periods of homelessness. The experience has given me a deep understanding of the devastating effect of housing insecurity.

My background is in the arts, education and community activism. My current role involves supporting individuals who have encountered barriers to further education. This job provides me with stability, but I am no stranger to periods of unemployment and job insecurity.

Like many who have witnessed disadvantage and experienced vulnerability, I am fiercely passionate about justice, liveable income levels, affordable housing, free healthcare and free education. I will fight hard for these things for our community.

The team at Vote Climate One may change our Traffic Light voting advice right up to shortly before election day. For instance it is very difficult to access ranking information from parties or candidates who have no public email, phone number or little internet profile. In these cases, we apply the precautionary principle with a Red Light ranking until further information and commitment to climate rescue comes to hand.

Please contact us if you have local information which could effect our rankings. Phone Rob 0n 0427 580 803

The House of Representatives

Labor is ranked Orange for the House of Reps. The opportunity for a Green Transition, sparked by the influence of a progressive cross bench holding the balance of power in a Labor minority government, is our bet bet for climate rescue.

The Senate

Likewise our senate Traffic Light Voting Guides also promote Labor ahead of the Coalition using an Orange Light status. This strategy will help discourage the worst scenario for climate action which would result from a combative Coalition/right wing party majority in the senate.
