Some groups of candidates have been allowed list themselves as non-party groups. This enables them to have a group voting box above the line in the Senate despite not being a registered political party. Previously such candidates were included as in an “Ungrouped” category at the end of the ballot paper. They were only listed “Below the Line” which is a disadvantaged position. Using this new format was not possible for all groups of candidates. A notable example was the “Voices” group which could have benefitted from having a position above the line in the Senate.

We are currently assessing the candidates. Traffic light advice will be given on a group basis.
