CLIMATE ACTION AND RENEWABLE ENERGY

With Benambra communities impacted by natural disasters such as bushfire and flooding during the past three years, it’s critical they supported to generate and store their own renewable energy as a way of building resilience to disaster and contributing to the state-wide move to reduce carbon emissions.

Energy resilience will become increasingly important in Benambra, as these natural disasters become more prevalent.

The state government must not only invest in community renewables projects but also take ambitious, evidence-based action on climate change.

It must also ensure that as we, collectively, transition away from fossil fuels and towards renewables, regional communities like Benambra are at the forefront of the action, and share in the economic benefits of a renewables revolution.
