Keiran Snape is your local community member for Adelaide and has qualified as an Outstanding Green Light Candidate.

1. I have a proud history as an elected member at the City of Adelaide of putting climate science at the forefront of decision-making, and so if elected, I will continue to support and advocate for real, science-backed responses to the climate crisis in the state parliament as well.

2. The application of the 3Rs and the Climate Rescue Accord to inform, where relevant, my policy positions and advocacy, aligns with my values and the values of my campaign platform.

Park Lands Protections
I am a Life member of the Adelaide Park Lands Association and previously served on their committee. During my time on council, I’ve always voted to support our Park Lands, squares and green spaces. Unfortunately, we’ve seen ongoing attacks from the current state government, which seem to value our Park Lands as only a land bank. I strongly oppose these attacks and will move to secure State Heritage listing for our Park Lands and increased funding for our bid for UNESCO World Heritage Listing.

Cost of Living
South Australia is in a cost-of-living crisis, from housing prices, all the way down to the cost of groceries. I will fight to put communities ahead of corporations and seek evidence-based solutions to relieve the burden on families and individuals. Key to this is more affordable and accessible public transport. I will be campaigning for free public transport and a tram extension to North Adelaide.

Community Voice in Development
Developers run this state. From the Walker Tower development on civic land to the bulldozing of local heritage places on our side streets, it is clear that the current system favours developers over communities. We need nothing less that a complete overhaul of the development code. It’s time to put people back into planning.

Transparency & Accountability
The culture of secrecy around government decisions needs to end. Many of this current government’s most controversial projects, decisions and captains’ calls are made behind closed doors. The best disinfection is the light of day. If elected to state parliament I will vote for transparency every time.

During my four years on Council I have moved a number of successful motions, positions and initiatives including:

Supporting our communities:

• Updating and refurbishing the Light Square Rainbow Walk

• Funding for a future South-West Community Centre

• South-West Library of Things

• LGBTIQA+ Conversion Practices ban

• Saving the Crown And Anchor

• Albert (Bert) Edwards plaque

• Supporting numerous festivals and cultural events

• Helping hundreds of residents and ratepayers with their inquiries and concerns

Ensuring the safety of road users and pedestrians:

• Melbourne Street Wombat Crossing

• Gouger Street Zebra Crossing

• Franklin Street Zebra Crossing

• Upgrade of Royal Avenue, Vincent Street and Vincent Place

• St Aloysius – Angas Street road safety upgrade

Supporting the environment and future of Adelaide:

• Climate Action Plan 2022-2026

• Blister Pack recycling

• 10c recycling bin trials

• Cities Appeal – Adelaide joining the Nuclear Weapons Ban Treaty

• Multiple motions opposing state government attacks on our Park Lands

Hi, I’m Bronte Colmer

I’m your state election Greens candidate for the seat of Adelaide.

I’m a committed trade unionist with over a decade of experience in the labour movement. I believe in the power of the working class and the importance of grassroots engagement to build lasting, collective change. Everyday people have the power – we just need leaders who will stand with us, not against us.

For too long, the major parties have paid lip service to the climate crisis and the skyrocketing cost of living. The political duopoly has grown complacent, putting the interests of business lobbyists ahead of everyday Australians.

We’re also witnessing a significant shift in public awareness about the crisis in Palestine. Across the world, people are rising up to demand justice, an end to arms trading with Israel, and meaningful government action. I stand firmly in solidarity with Palestine and will use my platform to fight for their human rights.

A vote for me is a vote for stronger workplace rights, tackling the climate crisis, and for justice for Palestinians.

Stand up and fight back —vote Greens. For now, and for our future.

This moment demands strong climate action.

If you’re worried about the climate crisis, you’re not alone.

Millions of us are worried about rising power bills, environmental destruction and protecting our families from extreme weather.

Labor has approved over 25 more coal and gas projects while in office, while the Liberals’ commitment to fossil fuels remains stronger than ever.

Both take millions in donations from coal and gas corporations to fund their election campaigns. They’re working for their donors, not for people, our planet or the future.

With the Greens in the balance of power in the Senate, this parliament has a real opportunity to deliver strong climate action.

Our plan for ambitious climate action

Our wins on climate and clean energy have shown what’s possible. Now it’s time to push further and lead the world in the move away from coal and gas.

  1. Stop new coal and gas.
  2. Expand publicly-owned renewable energy.
  3. End the billions in handouts to coal, oil and gas corporations.
  4. End native forest logging.
  5. Lower power bills by transitioning to more reliable, clean energy.
  6. Subsidise solar & batteries for homes & businesses.
  7. End fossil fuel subsidies for all industries except agriculture.
  8. Save koalas and our wildlife from extinction.
  9. Create thousands of jobs during the transition.
  10. Provide grants and low-interest loans to help households and small businesses electrify, install solar batteries, and cut emissions and energy bills.
