Don’t forget how important your vote in the Legislative Council is to creating a Fair Future for all South Australians.

Hi, I’m Josh Andersen-Ward

I’m running because South Australia needs honest leadership that puts people and community first. Together, we can create a cleaner, fairer, and more accountable future, built on integrity, equality, and environmental responsibility.

I’ve lived in inner-city Adelaide for nearly 20 years and understand what makes our community special, its diversity, creativity, and resilience. Badcoe deserves strong representation that genuinely listens and delivers. I’m running because government must do more to address the issues that affect us all, from affordable housing and cost-of-living pressures to public transport, secure jobs, and climate action that matches the scale of the challenge.

I’m a lawyer with experience in public-sector governance, environmental law, and accountability. I’ve worked with the Commonwealth Ombudsman, SA Water, the University of South Australia, and CSIRO, and served as Treasurer of the South Australian Indigenous Legal Professionals Association. I hold a Bachelor of Laws, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, and am completing a Master of Accounting and Finance.

Politics should serve the public, not corporate interests. I bring legal expertise, a record of integrity, and a deep belief in fair, transparent government that works for people, not profit.

This moment demands strong climate action.

If you’re worried about the climate crisis, you’re not alone.

Millions of us are worried about rising power bills, environmental destruction and protecting our families from extreme weather.

Labor has approved over 25 more coal and gas projects while in office, while the Liberals’ commitment to fossil fuels remains stronger than ever.

Both take millions in donations from coal and gas corporations to fund their election campaigns. They’re working for their donors, not for people, our planet or the future.

With the Greens in the balance of power in the Senate, this parliament has a real opportunity to deliver strong climate action.

Our plan for ambitious climate action

Our wins on climate and clean energy have shown what’s possible. Now it’s time to push further and lead the world in the move away from coal and gas.

  1. Stop new coal and gas.
  2. Expand publicly-owned renewable energy.
  3. End the billions in handouts to coal, oil and gas corporations.
  4. End native forest logging.
  5. Lower power bills by transitioning to more reliable, clean energy.
  6. Subsidise solar & batteries for homes & businesses.
  7. End fossil fuel subsidies for all industries except agriculture.
  8. Save koalas and our wildlife from extinction.
  9. Create thousands of jobs during the transition.
  10. Provide grants and low-interest loans to help households and small businesses electrify, install solar batteries, and cut emissions and energy bills.
