Voting Traffic Light in the 2026 Victorian State Election

You will receive two ballot papers to vote for your preferred candidates in the Victorian House of Assembly and the Victorian Legislative Council .

Red light candidates are threat to achieving a fair future for us all not just in relation to Climate Rescue, but also a range of social issues most of us are concerned about. The order you number the Red Light candidates will have a significant effect on creating a good outcome at this election. We describe this advice as Strategic Preferencing. Strategic Preferencing will turbo charge the effectiveness of your vote in Red Light electorates.

Strategic Preferencing in Croydon District

Croydon is a Red Light electorate .We strongly advise you to preference the Liberal candidate last. You have three Green Light candidates to vote for. Fortunately one those three is an Outstanding Green Light candidate and a very worthy independent.

Strategic Preferencing in the North Eastern Metropolitan Region

Whether you vote below, or above the line, number One Nation or their candidates stone motherless last. The divisiveness promoted by this party will tear us apart. Your vote can help to exclude them from minority government and preserve our capacity to restore social cohesion.

To do this effectively you will need to fill in all the boxes either above the line or below the line.

What Dave stands for

I stand for you, the community, and I’m inviting you to be part of the conversation.

As we get closer to the election, I’ll be announcing policies and priorities for the campaign, but to get there, I need to hear from you.

At the same time, I understand you need to know more about me and what I stand for to be part of this. So here are the values I stand for.

Serving with honesty, integrity and in your best interests

My commitment is simple: decisions will be guided by integrity, accountability, evidence and you, the community.

You’ll know where I stand, why I voted the way I did, and I’ll always put this community first—donors, factions and parties will not be a factor – because that’s the standard you deserve from your representatives.

Vote Climate One Assessment

1. If elected to the next Victorian Parliament, I will support real action on issues relating to the ecological and climate emergency.

Locally, I am campaigning on protecting our existing trees, waterways and native habitats, while restoring what has been degraded with practical, community-focused initiatives that build on existing work and direct government support where it will make the greatest difference. Priorities include protecting mature trees, restoring creeks and waterways that have been degraded and connecting fragmented habitat.

On a state level I support an accelerated transition to net zero. We cannot afford further delay to renewable energy projects. Our coal-fired power plants are reaching the end of their technical lives and the most viable and responsible way to address this is through renewable energy investment.
2. I support the application of the 3Rs and the Climate Rescue Accord to inform, when relevant, my position and advocacy on legislation and policy.
