Below is the Traffic light Voting Guide to elect seven members for the Division of Clark in the 2024 Tasmanian election. Download, print and fill it in at home and then take it to the polling booth with you to easily transfer your choices onto the ballot paper. There are no Outstanding Greenlight Candidates in Clark.
The following seven Green Light candidates are from the Tasmanian Greens. Their party has a strong policy for climate action.
Vica Bayley
Tasmanian Greens
Bayley grew up on a sheep farm near Sorell. He and his wife now live in Hobart where they’ve raised their two children. Bayley trained and worked as a teacher before joining the campaign to protect forests and stop Gunns’ pulp mill. Before entering State Parliament, Bayley led the community campaign to save kunanyi/Mt Wellington from a cable car and worked with Aboriginal people on land returns and cultural heritage protection. Bayley was first elected in a 2023 recount after the resignation of Cassy O’Connor. He is the Greens Deputy Leader.
Helen Burnet
Tasmanian Greens
Burnet is from North Hobart and has more than 20 years experience working in the health system as a registered podiatrist. She was elected to Hobart City Council in 2015 and is currently Deputy Lord Mayor. She has contested various state elections and entered parliament in 2024’s state election.
Pat Caruana
Tasmanian Greens
Caruana is a media adviser and campaigner who works for Greens Senator Nick McKim. He has a background in journalism and political communications. Before entering politics he was a journalist for Australian Associated Press and The Examiner. In 2022 he won $50,000 on game show Millionaire Hot Seat.
Peter Jones
Tasmanian Greens
Jones came to Tasmania in 1992 to teach at The Friends School for 27 years. He has a Masters in Tasmanian History from UTAS and a PhD in Islamic Studies from UNE. Since retiring from teaching, Jones has worked as a volunteer at the Migrant Resource centre in Glenorchy and as a tutor with the University of the Third Age. He is a member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).
Janet Shelley
Tasmanian Greens
Shelley is the Director of Sustainability at the federal Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and previously worked at the Bureau of Meteorology in environmental sustainability. She has worked and lived in some of the most ecologically diverse places in Australia, including a remote island in the Coral Sea, and Antarctica. Shelley was the Greens candidate for Clark at the 2022 and 2025 federal elections.
Angus Templeton
Tasmanian Greens
Templeman is a self-employed tour guide and community activist in West Hobart.
Nathan Volf
Tasmanian Greens
Volf is a social worker who works with young people in Hobart’s northern suburbs. He has been a Greens candidate in several elections since 2021 for positions in state parliament and the Hobart City Council.
