Currumbin/ 2024 Queensland state election

Here is a mock up of a Traffic Light Voting Guide. The real time guides for each electorate will be available after the ballot draw which will happen either on Thursday October 10th or Friday October 11th. We will prepare the guides over the weekend ready for pre-polling on Monday October 14th. Once we upload them to the website, you will be able to download, print, and fill them in at home and then take them to the polling booth with you to easily transfer your choices onto the ballot paper.  Alternatively take your phone with you when you head off to vote and you can then access our advice on the screen.

In the meantime, you can scroll down this page to check out the Green Light Candidate profiles.

The team at Vote Climate One encourages all candidates to support the 3Rs and the Climate Rescue Accord to underpin any decisions in the Queensland Legislative Assembly relating to action on the climate emergency.

Braden Smith

Werte, I’m Hugo. I’ve been a part of the Mparntwe Alice Springs community for four years. I’m a retail worker and spend my days speaking to people from all around town.

It’s time for fresh voices in Parliament, who will secure a good future for everyone in Alice Springs. That’s why I’m excited to stand for the Greens in Araluen in 2024.

Since moving to Central Australia I’ve been involved in the No New Pokies in Mparntwe campaign. I’ve spoken to many locals and tourists about how we have to protect our town from corporate interests. I support the work of the many local organisations that are working to future-proof our town, such as Central Australian Frack Free Alliance and Outback EV.

My priorities for the next four years are:

  • Pushing Labor and the CLP to go further & faster on climate action, with community solar and renewables, protecting our precious water, and getting gas money out of government.
  • Building a healthy and strong town with great services for young people, listening to the youth sector, and safer public spaces.
  • Being your Green voice on every local issue, and making sure government is fair, transparent and listens to the community.
