“If elected one of my main goals will be to support real action on issues relating to the ecological and climate emergency. I am also prepared to use the ‘3Rs and the Climate Rescue Accord’ to inform, when relevant, my position and advocacy on legislation and policy. I also support the use of the 3Rs and the Climate Rescue Accord to underpin decisions I will potentially make in the Queensland legislative Assembly in relation to action on the climate emergency.”
Shane qualifies as an Outstanding Green Light Candidate
Josh Holt (Greens)
I’ve been a local member of our community for nearly 5 decades now. I’ve raised four children, attended all my schooling and university, worked in several of the local hospitals and run small businesses here.
I am a local Justice of the Peace, Fijian/Australian and a single mum. I hold a Masters in Midwifery, a Masters in Community, Child & Adolescent Health, a Postgraduate Certificate in Prescribing and a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology.
Choosing me as your elected representative to State Parliament means you are getting an authentic community member who knows what you are going through, is true to my word, and lives by the Greens values.
Vote for me and I’ll keep the pressure up to make sure you get help with the rising costs of living.
The Greens will take on the big corporations that are ripping off Queenslanders. We’ll make them pay their fair share and use that money to build 100,000 public homes, fully fund schools, free childcare, hospitals and essential services. We’ll also freeze rents and cap increases.
The Greens will make groceries cheaper by breaking up the duopoly power of Coles and Woolies and stopping corporate price gouging for essentials. We’ll cut power bills with 100% publicly owned renewable energy, and take back control of our economy by bringing key infrastructure and services into public ownership.
We need a more democratic process without the dirty donations and constant tax breaks for developers, mining companies and big banks. The Greens don’t take corporate donations like Labor and the LNP, so I’ll work for you – not vested interests.
I also know that people want to feel safe in our communities. They currently don’t and they don’t feel listened to. I hear you. It has got to change! We need more community-based services for kids who are identified to be at risk of committing crimes. I’ll fight for free breakfasts and lunches in all public schools to help our kids focus and get the most out of their education.
Algester needs a publicly funded, independent small business ombudsman office, community legal advisors for small businesses and adequately-resourced, multi-lingual, small business advisory centres so that innovation and start-up culture is facilitated within our community.
I’ll fight to stop the racism towards migrants, First Nations people and people of colour; and facilitate a culture of respect.
As your elected representative, I’ll fight for a future for all of us – remembering our next generation who are going to be growing up in this beautiful area. Will you join me?
