Alex Dyson (Independent)

I grew up here and proudly got my education in Warrnambool. I got my start in community radio locally before establishing my broadcasting career at Triple J. Now, in addition to radio, I also operate a small hospitality business.

I am running as an independent to get a better deal for southwest Victoria. I’m here to fight for what our community needs, not do what a party says.

Voting the same way gets the same outcome and in Wannon we’ve been overlooked for too long. If you’re ready to get a better deal, then I’m ready to be your representative.

Your priorities are my platform. Across Wannon the key issues I hear from voters are:

  • help with the cost of living
  • fair funding for Wannon
  • action on our changing climate
  • improving our infrastructure
  • access to local healthcare and childcare
  • addressing the housing crisis
  • equality, respect & safety for women
  • stamping out corruption in politics

Kate Gazzard (Greens)

I’m a paediatric emergency doctor, previous Greens councillor, mum to two young boys, and a climate activist. I live on beautiful Wadawurrung land on the Surf Coast.

As a councillor I helped the Surf Coast community fight to protect the environment and improve social justice, including opposing oil and gas exploration off our coastline, working to protect our wetlands and waterways and pushing for more affordable housing.

I’m committed to fighting for outcomes for everyday people, and I have a deep understanding of what our community needs. I will fight for Wannon’s values every day, and have a team of Greens behind me doing the same.

I’m proud to be part of a party that is fighting for no new coal and gas and publicly owned renewable energy, cheaper groceries and a rent freeze.

We want to make big corporations pay their fair share of tax and fund things we all need, like dental and mental health into Medicare and make sure you can see the GP for free.

In a wealthy country like ours, everyone should be able to afford the basics and governments should actually solve the problems we face – the housing, cost of living and climate crises.

If you want change, you have to vote for it. Vote 1 Greens.
