“Emission targets for 2030 and 2050 are already criticized as being too weak yet we have those in the LNP coalition still calling for them to be scrapped and for there to be more support for coal and other fossil fuels. We are still expecting deviation from floods and looking at more devastating bushfire seasons coming up. We need to stop this and it is clear that the only way will be if we all make a stand this election.“
My name is Jeanene Williams and I will be running as the Independent candidate for Hasluck in the upcoming 2022 Australian Federal Elections and I need your support to help bring Diversity, Respect, Equity, Accountability and Maturity into our system of government.
I believe that we have lost our way at the highest levels, and we need to address this now.
We need to start at the top by bringing back Diversity, Respect, Equity, Accountability, and Maturity to our political systems. You could say that I have a DREAM, and that is to have a parliament that truly reflects our entire society. One that represents our actual community with not just a male-female balance but one that reflects all sexualities, all genders, those with disabilities, our indigenous custodians, those of colour, those of different religions or none at all, those of different races, cultures, ages and experiences. Not until we have done this will our political system be able to truly represents us.
This is why I am standing here today not as a Transgender woman, but as an advocate for Diversity, Respect, Equity, Accountability and Maturity. This is why I am asking for your support to be elected as the representative for Hasluck in 2022.
