Linda Barry (Greens)

I’m running because I care deeply for our world and our children.

The time for change is now.

We have an unfolding climate emergency, with ever widening wealth inequality and cost of living and housing crises

It’s time to give younger people some hope.

I’ve worked and raised my family in this area and I’m firmly embedded in our local community having volunteered for many causes throughout my life.

Throughout my 38 year career as a speech pathologist, predominantly within the public service, I’ve learned to listen and amplify the voices of those who are often unheard.

This has led to a holistic understanding of the needs of children and families from diverse circumstances, and the positive impact of community-led solutions to the complex problems that governments struggle to solve.

I recently ran as a Greens candidate in the Council elections and many of you told me you have lost faith in the current system that puts big corporations and lobbyists ahead of your interests.

You are ready for a change and real action on cost of living, housing and sustainable development that supports a sense of community connection.

I’m committed to living sustainability and applying this to planning, climate and economics.

Like my Green colleagues in all levels of government, I will call out the problems in our current economic and political systems and put the wellbeing of people and our planet front and centre

I’m here to represent you so we all have the opportunity for a better life. Join my campaign and be a part of this positive change.
