This is a single issue party. Some single issue parties are assessed as orange because they run the risk putting their single issue ahead of climate for pragmatic reasons.

” Susanne is determined to fight for strong action on climate change. “Most people in Leichhardt recognise that we are facing both a climate crisis and a wildlife extinction emergency and that we need urgent action.

Susanne Bayly has over 20 years’ experience across multiple industries in both the private and public sectors. In the local community, Susanne is an active animal rights and environmental advocate, regularly attending protests and rallies, participating in volunteer events, and educating the community at large.

Having witnessed the catastrophic consequences of the 2019-2020 Australian bushfires which devastated communities and killed an estimated 3 billion animals, Susanne is determined to fight for strong action on climate change. “Most people in Leichhardt recognise that we are facing both a climate crisis and a wildlife extinction emergency and that we need urgent action. They know they are lucky to live in one of the most beautiful parts of Australia but we cannot continue to take for granted our Heritage Listed Rainforests and the Great Barrier Reef.”

Susanne believes that the COVID-19 pandemic is another sign that we must urgently repair our relationship with animals and nature. Her first priorities will be to help harmful industries transition towards ecologically beneficial and plant based alternatives. “We must stop the destruction of the environment and the permanent lockdown of animals in factory farming, as well as live animal exports.”

Susanne is concerned by the strong link between animal cruelty and violence towards people. She will call for a national register of perpetrators of violence and abuse against both animals and people so they can be prohibited from working with animals, children and other vulnerable people within the community.
