Andrew Fenwick (LCP)

Andrew qualifies as an Outstanding Green Light Candidate

Andrew Fenwick isn’t just a single-issue candidate—he’s a true representative for Hunter, with deep roots in the region. Having lived and worked throughout the Hunter most of his life—now back driving coal trains—Andrew understands the real challenges locals face.

He’s running to break the cycle of political division and focus on practical solutions that deliver better outcomes. No empty promises, no party politics—just genuine advocacy for the people of Hunter.

Why legalise cannabis?

Legalisation could add $3B to the economy, create thousands of regional jobs, and redirect billions away from crime. Australia loses $2B a year on a failed war on cannabis, while legal markets overseas thrive. The Hunter region is perfectly positioned to benefit from sensible reform.

Victoria Davies (AJP)

Victoria is an Outstanding Green Light Candidate

Victoria is standing for election in the Hunter this federal election. She is determined to be the voice for the animals, people, and our environment. Victoria has lived and raised her family in the Hunter region for 45 years and is familiar with the needs and concerns of the community. She has dedicated her working life to caring for people as a Registered Emergency Nurse, supporting individuals on what is sometimes the worst day of their lives.

Victoria is committed to creating a fair and compassionate society, which extends to her volunteer work in dog rescue, providing care and sanctuary to abandoned and unwanted animals. She is also passionate about environmental and wildlife preservation. If elected, she will work to promote responsible pet ownership, protect wildlife and the environment, and advocate for sustainable urban development, ensuring both animals and people have a voice in the community.

Key issues in the Hunter include the destruction of wildlife corridors due to urban development and farmland rezoning, air pollution caused by industrial estate expansion, the proposed increase in hazardous and medical waste processing near residential areas, and the rise of unregulated puppy farms and backyard breeders. Victoria will work hard to protect the local environment and wildlife, address air quality concerns, and fight to shut down puppy farms.

Louise Stokes (Greens)

I have a Bachelor of Communications and a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education and have been teaching in secondary schools throughout Australia for over 30 years. I am passionate about equitable funding for public education, and access to theatre and the arts, especially in rural and regional communities. I am also passionate about ensuring that our young people can thrive in a safe and healthy environment.

This Federal election is a critical time for the Hunter electorate that has a very diverse economy and geographic spread from the beautiful Lake Macquarie to the Wollemi National Park, with productive farmland, famous Hunter vineyards, small and very large industry, including Power Stations and coal mines. The Hunter is on the cusp of the renewable energy revolution.

Solving the cost of living and housing crisis, creating new jobs in the transition for climate protection and access to good health care and quality free education are key goals for the Hunter electorate. It is time to vote for change: for an inclusive, representative Government.

The team at Vote Climate One may change our Traffic Light voting advice right up to shortly before election day. For instance it is very difficult to access ranking information from parties or candidates who have no public email, phone number or little internet profile. In these cases, we apply the precautionary principle with a Red Light ranking until further information and commitment to climate rescue comes to hand.

Please contact us if you have local information which could effect our rankings. Phone Rob 0n 0427 580 803

The House of Representitives

Labor is ranked Orange for the House of Reps. The opportunity for a Green Transition, sparked by the influence of a progressive cross bench holding the balance of power in a Labor minority government, is our bet bet for climate rescue.

The Senate

Likewise our senate Traffic Light Voting Guides also promote Labor ahead of the Coalition using an Orange Light status. This stategy will help discourage the worst senario for climate action which would result from a combative Coalition/right wing party majority in the senate.
