You can learn about how to effectively use Traffic Light Voting Guides for the upcoming Federal election by following this link to our video and familiarising yourself with its instructions:

Here’s how you can make climate a compelling issue locally.

Hand out Traffic Light A5 How to Vote cards at polling booths. Phone or text 0427 580 803 to arrange for print ready artwork tailored for your electorate. You can then print the How to Vote card using your home printer or for larger numbers use the services of a commercial printer.

This is particularly effective to help add extra reach to Green Light independent campaigns and draw in swinging voters. Vote Climate One’s assessment of candidates has the elevated status of being fiercely independent.

LCP supports the 3Rs and endorses the Climate Rescue Accord

Jason Hunter (Aboriginal Party)

Jason Hunter is a proud Nyikina/Nyul Nyul/Worora man from the West Kimberley who is driven by a deep commitment to protecting Indigenous land, culture, and communities.

Hunter is stepping forward to ensure Indigenous voices are represented in federal politics. The IAPA was founded by Barkindji people in Wilcannia who took action to defend the Baaka/Darling River from contamination and reduced flows. Similarly, the sacred Martuwarra/Fitzroy River in the West Kimberly faces a significant threat from a proposal by US oil and gas company Black Mountain, which plans to drill thousands of fracking wells across the region. As an indigenous person, Jason feels that he cannot stand by and watch the sacred rivers, springs, and lands be destroyed for the profit of a few. Jason sees connection to country as not just cultural but also about protecting the land for future generations.

Hunter believes that while the Labor Party may be better than the LNP, neither major party has demonstrated the commitment or ability to deliver the policies Indigenous communities need to thrive in the 21st century. The recent failure of the Voice referendum has reinforced the need for genuine political representation, which he believes IAPA can provide through policies that don’t just address the symptoms of inequality but also tackle the root causes.

Jason is committed to protecting sacred rivers, empowering Indigenous communities to educate their children, keeping families together and out of jail, and supporting Indigenous-owned businesses. Hunter’s campaign focuses on empowering Indigenous communities to lead change and ensuring their voices are not just heard but respected and acted upon.

Brendan Sturke (Greens)

I’m a father and dog owner who has spent 30 years working as a rescue and safety professional in the mining industry.

On my days off, I love to play tennis, carry a tune on my harmonica and walk my gorgeous dog Violet along the beach at sunrise.

I first realised I needed to step up and be a voice for change during my time volunteering to support homeless people. Everyone deserves to have a roof over their head, but we won’t get the action on housing our community needs unless we start voting for it.

This election we have a real opportunity to get more Greens into parliament to push the government further and faster on issues that matter to Durack.

Without your support, we can’t make a Green future happen.

Join me in making change this federal election!

The team at Vote Climate One may change our Traffic Light voting advice right up to shortly before election day. For instance it is very difficult to access ranking information from parties or candidates who have no public email, phone number or little internet profile. In these cases, we apply the precautionary principle with a Red Light ranking until further information and commitment to climate rescue comes to hand.

Please contact us if you have local information which could effect our rankings. Phone Rob 0n 0427 580 803

The House of Representitives

Labor is ranked Orange for the House of Reps. The opportunity for a Green Transition, sparked by the influence of a progressive cross bench holding the balance of power in a Labor minority government, is our bet bet for climate rescue.

The Senate

Likewise our senate Traffic Light Voting Guides also promote Labor ahead of the Coalition using an Orange Light status. This stategy will help discourage the worst senario for climate action which would result from a combative Coalition/right wing party majority in the senate.
