Peter George (Independent)

Greater Hobart is Australia’s most vulnerable city to catastrophic fire like the disaster in Los Angeles.

I’ll fight for:

  • Urgent Commonwealth/State action to prevent such a catastrophe in our city
  • A National Climate Action Fund to build resilience against the climate crisis
  • No one denied insurance for losses from natural disaster
  • Halting coal mine expansion
  • Phase out coal and gas exports
  • No nuclear power stations here or on the mainland

Our children and our grandchildren who deserve better

Peter is part of the Community Independents Project

Owen Fitzgerald (Greens)

Our youngest candidate, Owen is a vibrant, youthful voice, passionate about the environment, equality, and First Nations justice.

Extensively involved in fighting for a better world, Owen has attended various humanitarian summits worldwide, and this year attended the Change The World Model UN conference in New York.

Having grown up in the Franklin area, Owen has seen first hand the impact unsustainable salmon farming and native logging practices have had on the community and environment; practices which Owen is dedicated to addressing.

The cornerstone of Owen’s campaign is forward thinking – looking to a sustainable, equitable, and fair future for all in Franklin and beyond.
