Policy Statements
- We care about the future of our planet. A greener bent will give our children and our grandchildren clean/er air and clean/er water. Each of us must try to do our part to innovate, change and respect the environment. Our lives and future depend on it!
- Plastic waste chokes the planet. Petrochemicals are found in a wide array of household items, from plastic wrap and rubbish bags to plastic bottles. Hemp based plastics decompose in months rather than decades
- Bio-futures is one of the opportunities that will support future economic development, open the door to new investment and grow employment in regional areas of Queensland
- Bio-products offer a renewable and environmentally beneficial alternative to existing conventional chemical and fossil fuel refining processes
- Transitioning to biofuel power stations would lower emissions and create a carbon neutral cycle and thus reduced greenhouse gasses.
- Reducing our own dependence on mining will protect our water tables from contamination. Fracking would be completely off the agenda

Amanda Holly (Greens)
As a long-time resident of Ipswich, it’s been troubling to witness our community grappling with rising living costs, poor air quality, frequent floods, a shortage of affordable housing, and limited access to medical care, all under the watch of the current Labor government.
In my full-time role advocating for a kinder world for animals, I’ve been deeply disappointed by this Labor government’s decision to invest tens of millions of dollars in a new greyhound track in Ipswich. At a time when people are struggling to feed their families and pay their rent, this money should instead be spent on initiatives that improve lives rather than exploit animals for the harmful gambling industry
It’s equally distressing to see our beautiful wildlife habitats being destroyed to benefit property developers. The Labor government has allowed four-fifths of our remnant vegetation to be bulldozed, endangering species like koalas, which are now on the brink of extinction.
As your representative for Ipswich, I will be a relentless advocate for sustainable development. I will ensure that future growth is balanced with environmental stewardship, and I will hold the waste industry accountable for its actions, protecting our community and environment from further harm. Our environment is not a commodity to be exploited; it is a precious resource that must be preserved for future generations.
Above all, I will work tirelessly for the people in our community who are struggling with rising rents, housing shortages, and the escalating costs of daily living.
The Greens will take on the big corporations that are ripping off Queenslanders. We’ll make them pay their fair share and use that money to build 100,000 public homes, fully fund schools, free childcare, hospitals and essential services. We’ll also freeze rents and cap increases.
The Greens will make groceries cheaper by breaking up the duopoly power of Coles and Woolies and stopping corporate price gouging for essentials. We’ll cut power bills with 100% publicly owned renewable energy, and take back control of our economy by bringing key infrastructure and services into public ownership.
We deserve a government that prioritises the needs of the people over political donors. The Greens don’t take corporate donations like Labor and the LNP do. As your MP, I will serve the best interests of all members of our community – not those of wealthy donors.
