I’m a retired federal prosecutor for the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, standing for The Greens to help oust this disastrous coalition government. I’m running to make sure the people of North Sydney are heard, on climate change, environmental protection, the need for a federal integrity commission, affordable housing, extending Medicare and universal childcare.
I have longstanding connections with the north Shore, I attended High School at Cremorne Girls High School, and have been a Hunter’s Hill resident since 2002. I graduated in sociology & law from the University of NSW, obtained a master of laws from the University of Sydney. I worked as a solicitor in private practice, as well as the Law Reform Commission of NSW & the Commonwealth, before moving into public prosecutions.
In the mid-1990s, my former husband Michael Mobbs and I created a sustainable house in the inner city Sydney, aimed at self-sufficiency in terms of energy, water and waste disposal. This educational trail blazer continues to inspire countless renovations and remains open for public tours today.
I’m passionate about restoring native bushland. I volunteer with the Friends of Buffalo Creek and the Great North Walk bushcare group and am a member of the Hunters Hill Bushland Management Advisory Committee. Since 2016, my husband Dr Allan Coles and I have been working to restore degraded RMS land at Huntleys Point by creating a eucalyptus forest and understory for bird habitat.
