South Australia State Election March 21st 2026
The team at Vote Climate One are now working on creating the state electorate pages. This involves publishing an PDF image of a ballot paper and creating profiles for Green Light candidates.
Party candidates are not assessed individually. Whatever their personal position when it comes to a vote on legislation, they will tow the party line. Its the party’s record and position, particularly on climate action, which informs these party candidate assessments. Our Traffic Light Voting link explaining this is aimed at the next Federal election in 2028. Nevertheless, most of that analysis applies to SA state election. Democracy is not well served in South Australia if you have one of the major parties with a comfortable majority coupled with a very weak opposition. The argument for minority government is absolutely relevant at your state level.
Once again the argument outlined on the Strategic Preferencing page is aimed at the next Federal election but applies equally to the current South Australian situation.
